Leeteuk (2011)

Leeteuk (born July 1, 1983 in Seoul as Park Jung-su ) is a South Korean singer and actor. He is a member of the boy band Super Junior and the subgroups Super Junior-T and Super Junior-H .

Life

Leeteuk is the younger of two children. His older sister Park Inyoung (* 1982) is also a singer. His parents divorced in 1988. In 2014, his father, Park Yong, committed an extended suicide that dragged his parents to their deaths after years of depression. Before this information became known, however , SM Entertainment spoke of a fatal car accident.

After signing a contract with SM Entertainment in 2000 , he was accepted into training there after several smaller advertising appearances. 2003 Leeteuk became a member of the boy band Smile , which was dissolved a short time later. He and Donghae were therefore assigned to the Super Junior group. Due to his age, he soon developed into a leader.

In November 2005 the group Super Junior made its debut with twelve members. The debut album reached number 3 in the Korean album charts. In 2006, Cho Kyu-hyun became a thirteenth member of the boy band. While Leeteuk continued to celebrate success with Super Junior, he was divided into a new subgroup of Super Junior by SM Entertainment in 2007, which dealt with the music genre Trot , and was therefore called Super Junior-T . In 2008 he was employed in another subgroup called Super Junior-H . However, this was only moderately successful and was dissolved that same year.

On April 19, 2007, Leeteuk and a few of his teammates were involved in an accident caused by the bursting of the left front tire. The car then skidded about 30 meters further. He sustained severe injuries, including splinters of glass over his eyes and in his back, so that he had to be admitted to the hospital, where over 170 sutures had to be made. On April 30, 2007, he was released from the hospital.

In addition to his singing career, Leeteuk worked as a radio DJ with his band member Eunhyuk from 2006 to 2011 . They had their own show which was called SUKIRA and which still exists today. He has also appeared on television in several television programs since 2009.

For the sixth album of Super Junior Sexy, Free & Single , which was released in 2012, Leeteuk was first worked as a songwriter, he wrote the song Only U .

In September 2011 Leeteuk was listed on the lists for the South Korean Army Service. He was drafted on October 30, 2012 and had to take a forced break from his activities at Super Junior. In January 2013 he played in a military musical. After 21 months of service in the army, Leeteuk was dismissed from the army on July 29, 2014.

After retiring from the army, Leeteuk went straight to the recording studio to work on a Super Junior album. In November 2014, Leeteuk was seen with two of his band members for the reality show One fine Day . With the studio album Devil , which was released in July 2015, he celebrated his comeback with Super Junior-T .

In 2017 the group finally released their long-awaited eighth album Play with the title track Black Suit without Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Kangin and Sungmin. Since 2017 there is also the reality show Super TV, which has 2 seasons to this day.

In 2018 they collaborated with the Latin-Pop singers Leslie Grace and Reik for the songs Lo Siento and Otra Vez for the repackage of their eighth album Play and a mini-album.
