Kim Heechul (born July 10, 1983 in Hoengseong- gun, Gangwon-do ) is a South Korean pop singer , actor , television presenter and a member of the boy group Super Junior , as well as in their subgroup Super Junior-T .

Life

Heechul was signed to SM Entertainment in 2002 and was supposed to debut in the boy band Four Seasons . The band was dissolved before the debut and he and his later bandmate Kangin were brought to the band Super Junior . Even before the debut of Super Junior, Heechul worked as a model and actor and was seen in various series and films. He played in 2005, together with his bandmate Kibum , in the teen drama Sharp 2 .

In November 2005, Heechul made his debut with the band Super Junior . The debut album reached number 3 in the Korean album charts. Super Junior was actually a planned rotation band, which should release band members every year in order to enable younger members to join the band. However, due to the band's success, this procedure was not carried out. After the debut with Super Junior, Heechul was back with Kibum as an actor.

During Heechul of Super Junior still able to celebrate successes, he was assigned by SM Entertainment in 2007 in a new subgroup of Super Junior, dedicated to the music style Trot concerned and therefore Super Junior - T was called. In the same year he also starred in the Korean film Attack on the Pin-Up Boys . He also had several appearances in TV series and moderated various TV programs. In November 2007 Heechul received a radio show which ran until 2008. Heechul also made his debut as a musical singer in 2008, together with his teammate Kangin in the musical Xanadu, which was performed in Seoul until November 2008.

In 2009, Heechul appeared in several TV shows in addition to his activities at Super Junior. In 2010 he also received a new radio show, which he gave to Kyuhyun in 2011 because he moved in. In the same year he released his first solo single with First Star ( 초별 ). In 2011 he released the song 뭘봐 (Close Ur Mouth), which he recorded with Kim Jung-mo from the band TRAX . They called their joint music project M&D .

On September 1, 2011, Heechul was drafted into the South Korean army service and thus had to forcibly pause his activities at Super Junior. After 23 months of service in the army, Heechul was released on August 31, 2013.

After his army service, Heechul worked on his acting career and resumed his activities with Super Junior. In 2015, Heechul made a comeback with his teammates with Super Junior-T and recorded some songs with his bandmates for the album Magic .

On January 1, 2020, SM Entertainment confirmed that Heechul was in a relationship with Hirai Momo , a member of the girl group Twice .
