Kim Bo-gyung (born October 16, 1987 in South Korea ) is a South Korean singer, known by her stage name Stephanie . She was originally a dancer and was active in both the USA and South Korea. From 2005 to 2016 she was active and inactive in the South Korean girl band The Grace .

Life

Kim Bo-gyung started dancing ballet when she was five . She moved with her family from South Korea to San Diego , California , where she was in a ballet company. Therefore she speaks fluent English . She played in various American musicals early on . After she won the annual Southern California "Teen Best" competition, she became active with SM Entertainment's SM scouts . She was the female role in the Kangta & Vaness music video for 127day , which is available in Chinese and Korean .

Since 2005 she has been in the South Korean girl group The Grace . They performed first in South Korea, then in China and finally in Japan . For the second Japanese single The Club she recorded the song What U Want as B-Side , which is available in Japanese and Korean.

In 2008 she recorded the song Everlasting Star for the fourth studio album Stars by the Japanese DJ Makai , which she sings solo.

After she was unable to take part in the Tenjochiki 1st Live Tour 2009 ~ Dear ... ~ due to chronic back pain and the band continued the tour in three groups, The Grace took a break. A comeback was announced, but not for when. After she was healthy, she retired to the USA and studied ballet there. She has now finished her studies. In an interview she said that she would like to work in the music industry again.

Stephanie is known for her dance . She is considered to be one of the best dancers in South Korea and was very popular during active times. In addition to ballet, she also dances jazz dance and hip-hop .

In 2012 it was announced that Stephanie wants to make her solo debut and has signed a record deal with Media Line Entertainment . The album will be produced by Media Line Entertainment and SM Entertainment , as their contract with SM Entertainment has not yet expired there. On October 4th, a preview of the song Game was shown on M-Net . The song is on their first single, The New Beginning , which was released on October 8, 2012 in South Korea.
