Chantel McGregor Dawn (* 12. March 1986 in Bradford , England ) is a British blues-rock - guitarist and singer-songwriter .

biography

Chantel McGregor attended the Leeds College of Music, where she received several awards, including the Leeds College of Music Prize for Outstanding Musicianship. In July 2009 she graduated with First Class Honors in Popular Music and began a career in the British and international blues scene. She performs both solo and with a band.

At the British Blues Awards she was named “Young Artist Of The Year” in 2011 and “Best Female Vocalist” in 2012. In 2013 she won two categories, "Guitarist Of The Year" and "Best Female Vocalist". In 2014 she was again "Guitarist Of The Year".

Her debut album Like No Other , released in 2011, was produced by Livingstone Brown, who has worked with such well-known musicians as Ed Sheeran , Shakira , Kylie Minogue and Corinne Bailey Rae . Her second album Lose Control , also produced by Livingstone Brown, came out in October 2015.

In September 2019 the live album Bury'd Alive was released. It contains a mix of songs from the first two albums as well as a song that will be included on the next studio album.
