Chaoswave is an Italian thrash and progressive metal band from Cagliari that was founded in 2003.
history
The band was founded in the summer of 2003 by the Danish guitarist Henrik "Guf" Rangstrup, who had moved to Italy the year before. A short time later, drummer Raphael Saini, bassist Marco Angioni and the singers vocal duo Giorgia Fadda and Fabio Carta joined the cast. A self-titled demo was released in November 2004, of which around 1500 copies were sold. As a result, the group reached a contract with DVS Records , which released the debut album The White Noise Within in 2006 . This was followed by various appearances in Europe , such as at ProgPower Europe in the same year .
In December 2007 the band went into the studio to record the next album, Dead Eye Dreaming . It was mixed by Andy LaRocque ( King Diamond ). The guest musician was guitarist Steve Smyth ( Nevermore , Testament ). In summer 2008 bassist Marco Angioni left the band and was replaced by Michele Mura. In September 2008 the band signed a contract with Nightmare Records and released Dead Eye Dreaming on November 25th in the USA and Canada . The German label Silverwolf Records released the album together with SPV Records on March 6, 2009 in Europe and Japan .
style
The band plays technically demanding, progressive Thrash Metal, with the drums reminiscent of Fear Factory and Nevermore .
