Charlene Polite

Charlene Polite (born June 30, 1943 in Ohio , † June 21, 1999 in Youngstown , Ohio) was an American actress .

Life

Polite attended Youngstown State University in the mid-1960s and earned a bachelor's degree in theater and English literature. After some success in the regional theater, she attended the Pittsburgh Playhouse for further training and then came to the American Conservatory Theater . She had her first two small film appearances in 1968 in the Italian production Quella carogna dell'ispettore Sterling and in the American crime drama Bullitt . In 1969 she played the troglyte leader Vanna in her first television appearance in the episode The Cloud City of the science fiction series Spaceship Enterprise . This was followed by guest appearances in the series My Friend Tony , Mayberry RFD (1969), Hawaii Fünf-Null (1970), Cannon (1971), Doris Day in… (1971), Twen-Police (1972) and Bumpers Revier (1976). She was also seen in the 1971 television film Love Hate Love as a secretary and in the 1974 drama Memory of Us as Stella. She has not appeared as an actress since 1976.

Polite was first married to the author Frank Polite, whom she had met at Youngstown State University and was married to the actor Ramon Bieri in second marriage . She died of cancer on June 21, 1999 at the age of 55.
