Charles Gipps Hamilton

Charles Gipps Hamilton (born June 27, 1857 in Sunningdale , Berkshire , † June 8, 1955 in London ) was an English lawyer and tennis player.

Life

Hamilton was born in 1857 to Edward William Terrick Hamilton and his wife Ann Thacker. After studying law at Trinity College of Cambridge University he became a barrister in the Bar Association Inner Temple one. On September 28, 1892, he married Anne Gertrude Land.

In 1878, Hamilton took part in the second edition of the Wimbledon Championships . He reached the quarterfinals, in which he had to admit defeat Lestocq Robert Erskine .

He died in 1955 at the age of 97 in Chelsea, London .
