Charles Meer Webb
Charles Meer Webb (born July 16, 1830 in Slough , then Buckinghamshire , now Berkshire , † December 9, 1895 in Düsseldorf ) was a German-British genre painter from the Düsseldorf School .
Life
Webb was a student at the academies of Amsterdam and Antwerp. From 1848 to 1851 he attended the Düsseldorf Art Academy , where he was taught by Karl Ferdinand Sohn and Rudolf Wiegmann . In 1851 he took private lessons with Wilhelm Camphausen . From 1848 to 1893 he was - with interruptions - a member of the artists' association Malkasten . He mainly worked in Düsseldorf, for a while he lived in Kleve . Webb died of a fall at the age of 65.
