Carl Wilhelm "Charles" Meyer (born March 16, 1868 in Flensburg , † January 31, 1931 in Dieppe ) was a Danish cyclist.

Charles Meyer had his first successes in 1892 when he came second in the French road races Paris-Nantes-Rennes-Paris and Paris-Nantes-Caen-Rouen-Paris . The following year he won Paris – Trouville and Amiens – Dieppe . In 1893 he competed with Buffalo Bill , who could do more kilometers in twelve hours, Meyer on a bicycle or Buffalo Bill on a horse. Meyer managed 332 kilometers and lost twelve kilometers.

In 1894 Meyer took second place at the Bol d'Or , was also second at Lyon-Paris-Lyon and third at Paris-Dinant . In 1895 he won the 600-kilometer one-day race Bordeaux – Paris and in the following year took second place in the first Paris – Roubaix event behind the German Josef Fischer . In 1897 he was third at Bordeaux-Paris.

Meyer, who took on the first name "Charles" as a racing driver, lived in Dieppe from 1888 and opened the Grand Garage Meyer car and bicycle workshop there . In 1898 he took French citizenship. He looked after Charles Terront during his bicycle tour from Saint Petersburg to Paris in 1893. In 1907 he made his premises available to the newly founded Covered Lawn Tennis and Badminton Club of the British colony of Dieppe. Fencing , wrestling and roller skating competitions were also held there, as well as film screenings.
