Charles Ortega
Charles Ortega (born April 1, 1925 in Oran , Algeria , † February 13, 2006 near Cannes , France ) was a French painter and ceramist.
Charles Ortega, the son of Spanish immigrants in Algeria, met Pablo Picasso after the Second World War and became a pupil, and later a friend, of Picasso.
Ortega was friends with Anthony Quinn , Gérard Depardieu , Pierre Cardin , Alberto Sordi and other contemporary intellectuals and artists. His well-known works include numerous portraits, for example by Brigitte Bardot , Charles de Gaulle , Anthony Quinn, Pierre Cardin and Jean Marais .
