Charles Paris

Charles S. “Chuck” Paris (born September 25, 1911 , † March 19, 1994 in Tombstone , Arizona ) was an American comic artist.

Life

Chuck Paris grew up in Greensboro , North Carolina . In 1934 he went to New York City . He began working as a full-time comic book artist in the 1940s. Although he occasionally gave up work as a pencil draftsman - such as the drawings for the booklets Batman # 42 and # 46 - in the course of his career he mainly worked as an ink draftsman, who revised other artists' pencil drawings with ink.

In the 1940s, Paris participated as a partner of Bob Kane in the visual implementation of the Batman comic strips, which were then published in numerous American daily newspapers. In the 1950s and 1960s, Paris finally washed a large number of issues from the Batman and Detective Comics series , with the illustrators Sheldon Moldoff and Dick Sprang being his artistic partners. In addition, Paris was involved in the Metamorpho series.

Since the early 1980s, he lived in Catalina , Arizona . He died of a car accident near Tombstone , Arizona.
