Charles stake

Charles Alton Pfahl (born May 15, 1946 in Akron , Ohio - † October 4, 2013 in Albuquerque ) was an American painter.

He studied in Madison , Connecticut, as well as in New York and in Cuyahoga Falls . In 1980 he had a solo exhibition at the Grand Central Art Galleries in New York. From 1981 he taught at the Arts Student League, New York. Charles Pfahl's works have been exhibited at the Butler Institute of American Art, the Westmoreland Museum, Pennsylvania, and other locations. His awards included the Hallgarten Award at the National Academy of Design.

Pfahl maintained a realistic style of painting and often preferred dark to mysterious motifs.
