Charles Thévenin
Charles Thévenin (* 12. July 1764 in Paris ; † 28. February 1838 ) was a French painter of Classicism .
Life
Charles Thévenin, son of the architect Jean Charles Thévenin, studied painting at the Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture , under the famous painter François-André Vincent . Thévenin traveled to Italy, where he won the Prix de Rome in Rome in 1791 and studied at the Villa Medici . Back in France he taught at the Académie de France and in 1824 he was elected a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts .
