Charlotte Prodger (* 1974 in Bournemouth , England ) is a in the UK living artist and winner of the Turner Prize 2018th

life and work

Prodger studied at both Goldsmiths, University of London and the Glasgow School of Art . She works mainly with moving images , sculptures , writing and performance . Her work deals with questions about queer identity , landscape , language technology and time.

In 2016 an exhibition was dedicated to her in the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen , in winter 2017/2018 in the Bergen Kunsthall in Bergen, Norway .

Prodger lives in Glasgow .

Awards

Charlotte Prodger's work "Bridgit", for which she was awarded the Turner Prize in 2018, was created exclusively with a smartphone and was on view in " Tate Britain " until January 6, 2019 , alongside the works of all four shortlisted artists .

Under the partnership between Scotland and Venice represents Prodger 2019 at the Venice Biennale in Scotland .
