Charlotte van den Broeck

Charlotte van den Broeck (* 1991 in Turnhout ) is a Flemish poet and editor .

Van den Broeck studied literature and linguistics, English and German at the University of Ghent . She is currently studying word art (woordkunst) at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp (Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerp).

In 2012 and 2013 she was in the top 100 of the national poetry competition. ( Turing National Gedichtenwedstrijd ). A year later, in 2014, she published some poems in the magazines Het Liegend Konijn , De Revisor and Deus ex Machina , whereupon her first work Kameleon (German: Chameleon) appeared in 2015 .

Kameleon became one of the best poetry debuts of the year. In 2016 she won the Herman de Coninck Prize with it .

Van den Broeck also brings her poems to the stage ( poetry slam ). In 2013 she made it to the final of DichtSlamRap . She is editor of the literary magazine DW B .

As a guest of honor , Charlotte van den Broeck will open the Frankfurt Book Fair 2016 together with Arnon Grunberg .
