Chaynesse Khirouni (born March 17, 1968 in Douai ) is a French politician . She has been a member of the National Assembly since 2012 .

Khirouni grew up in a working-class family in the Lorraine towns of Rombas and Woippy and studied in Nancy , where she obtained a DESS in corporate administration and a DEA in corporate management. Since the 1990s she has headed a social organization to combat illiteracy . In 1998 she founded the regional association of the microcredit organization ADIE in Lorraine. In the local elections in 2008 Khirouni decided to rise in politics, whereupon she was offered third place on the party list in Nancy by the Parti socialiste . She was able to move into the city council and joined the PS in the course of the election. In the parliamentary elections in 2012 , she ran for this in the first constituency of the Meurthe-et-Moselle department . In the second round she beat the previous MP Laurent Hénart with 52.2% and entered the National Assembly.
