The Cheer Academy Bochum (CAB for short) is a sports club in Bochum that is exclusively dedicated to cheerleading . The club is represented in both German cheerleading organizations through the national associations of the Cheerleader Association Germany in the American Football Association Germany and the Cheerleading and Cheerdance Association Germany and is also organized in this way in the German Olympic Sports Confederation .
history
In the summer of 2007, some Bochum cheerleaders decided that cheersports in Bochum should no longer be an appendage in the shadow of more or less established sports. Based on this idea, the Cheer Academy Bochum was founded on September 25, 2007 - and on November 13, 2007 the founding phase was already over with the entry in the register of associations at the Bochum District Court.
In terms of sport, the CAB started in the senior area with a dance team, an all-girl cheer team and a group stunt group. The home of the cheer teams was mostly the gymnastics center in Harpener Heide. The dance group met regularly in the Cheer Factory in Bochum- Wattenscheid . Since a trunk of "trained" cheerleaders was already there when it was founded, appearances at various events were quickly added.
In 2008, competitive sport also began at the Cheer Academy Bochum with the participation of Lilax in the Senior Allgirl Cheer category at the GermanCheerMasters in Lemgo. A year later, the first junior team started training. Since then, the Lilies have started in the Peewee age group (up to 11 years). With the establishment of the junior team - the Violets - in January 2012, the Cheer Academy Bochum offers performance-related competition training for girls and women of all ages.
Teams
Although the Cheer Academy Bochum represents the cheerdance and cheerleading divisions according to the statutes, currently (2015) only the all-girl cheer categories can be offered.
Peewees
In the junior area, the Lilies start as an Allgirl Cheer Team in the Peewee age group (under 12 years). In addition, the Purple Starlights (Allgirl Groupstunt) and the Purple Twinkle (build-up team) performed at competitions.

Juniors
In the age group Juniors (12 to 16 years at the CvD and 12 to 17 years at the CCVD) the Violets appear as the Allgirl Cheer Team for the Cheer Academy Bochum. As a group stunt group, they have appeared twice at competitions under the name Purple Starlights so far (2015).
