Chefs-d'œuvre classiques de l'opéra français , also called Collection Michaëlis , is one of Théodore de Lajarte (1826–1890) with the participation of César Franck , François-Auguste Gevaert , Alexandre Guilmant , Vincent d'Indy , Charles Poisot , Louis Soumis , Jean-Baptiste Weckerlin and others published a series of important works of French operatic music . It was published in 38 unnumbered volumes in 7 series in Paris , some volumes also in Leipzig undated (1877–83) and includes piano reductions from a total of 41 operas and ballets .
