The Chelis Nunatak ( Bulgarian нунатак Хелис nunatak Chelis ) is a 340 m high and distinctive nunatak on Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . In Vidin Heights, it rises 1.8 km west of Edinburgh Hill , 1.8 km south of Sharp Peak and 1.8 km east-southeast of Madara Peak .
Bulgarian scientists mapped it when surveying the Tangra Mountains between 2004 and 2005. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it after the ancient city of Chelis not far from the Thracian tomb of Sveshtari in northeastern Bulgaria.
