Chelone Miller

Chelone "Chilly" Miller (full name Nathaniel Kinsman Ever Chelone Skan Miller ) (born August 26, 1983 in Easton , New Hampshire , USA - † April 7, 2013 in Mammouth Lake , California , USA) was an American snowboarder . He was the younger brother of Bode Miller .

Life

Chelone Miller was already nine years old on a snowboard. At the age of 20 he became a professional snowboarder, his role model was his older brother, the skier Bode Miller.

Until his death, he took part in various competitions, one month before his death at the US Grand Prix Nationals of Snowboarding in Utah , where he even took 4th place and received a ticket for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi . He was even ahead of well-known snowboarders like Nate Holland and Seth Wescott . He was also a member of the US national snowboard team.

Accidents

In 2005 Miller had a serious motorcycle accident. He was in a coma for 11 days . He never fully recovered from the consequences until his death.

A serious accident followed in which Miller suffered a stroke for the first time and fell onto his back from a gondola. He survived seriously injured.

In 2011 he suffered a heart attack in Alaska , which he survived but had to be treated in hospital.

death

On April 7, 2013, Chelone Miller was found dead in his trailer in Mammouth Lake, California. A fatal stroke is assumed. His ashes were also scattered there after the cremation. He was 29 years old.
