Chen Run'er

Chen Run'er (Chinese:陈润儿, born in October 1957 in Chaling in the province of Hunan ) is a Chinese politician who since April 2016 Governor of the province of Henan is. He was previously deputy chief of the Communist Party of Heilongjiang Province and party chief of Changsha and Xiangtan cities in his home province of Hunan.

Life

Chen Run'er was born in October 1957 in Chaling County, Hunan Province. He joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1975. From 1983 to 1985 he studied agriculture at Hunan Agricultural University .

Chen spent most of his early career in the Chaling County government, rising to district judge in 1987 and district chairman in 1990. In 1992, he became mayor of Chenzhou , then a county-level city. Two years later, he became the deputy party chief of Chenzhou Prefecture. From 1993 to 1996 he studied part-time at the Central Party School. In 1997 he became deputy party leader of Loudi Prefecture . In April 2000, Chen was appointed mayor of Xiangtan City at the prefectural level (until January 2001) and in 2003 he was appointed party leader of Xiangtan. In November 2006, he became party leader in Changsha, the capital of Hunan.

In April 2013, Chen was transferred to Heilongjiang, northeast China, to serve as the provincial vice party leader. In November 2014, when the Central Disciplinary Inspection Commission sent a team to Heilongjiang, there were rumors that Chen Run'er was likely to overthrow due to corruption, and Chinese news website Boxun even reported that Chen had been arrested. However, this turned out to be a hoax. In March 2016, Chen was appointed deputy party leader and governor-designate to Henan Province in central China. On April 7, 2016, the Provincial People's Congress elected Chen as governor of Henan, succeeding Xie Fuzhan , who had been appointed provincial party leader.

Chen was an alternate member of the Chinese Communist Party's 17th and 18th Central Committees, and is a full member of the 19th Central Committee.
