Liam Jordan Palmer (born September 19, 1991 in Worksop ) is a Scottish football player who is under contract with Sheffield Wednesday .
Career
society
Liam Palmer was born in Worksop , England , 30 km southeast of Sheffield . He played in Sheffield Wednesday's youth until 2010 . On August 10, 2010, Palmer made his debut on the professional team in the League Cup against FC Bury . Under Gary Megson , he made nine league games in League One in the first season of his young career . In the following season 2011/12 he scored his first goal for the pros when he scored in the game against Milton Keynes Dons on September 10, 2011. In the same year Wednesday succeeded as runner-up behind Charlton Athletic to rise to the 2nd division. Palmer was loaned to the third division Tranmere Rovers for the entire 2012/13 season after promotion with Sheffield . At the Rovers he was an integral part of the first team for the entire season. He was used in 43 of 46 possible league games. On February 15, 2013 he saw the first red card of his career against Shrewsbury Town . After returning to the second division, he was a regular there in the following two years. In the 2015/16 season he lost his place in his regular position as right full-back to Jack Hunt . In addition to the personally disappointing season, Sheffield lost the play-off final at Wembley Stadium for promotion to the Premier League against Hull City . He was not a regular again until the 2018/19 season.
National team
Liam Palmer played in the U-19 and U-21 of Scotland between 2010 and 2012 . In March 2019, Palmer was appointed to the squad of the Scottish senior team for the first time . He made his debut for the team on March 21, 2019, when he was in the starting XI in the qualifier for the 2020 European Championship against Kazakhstan .
