Kieran Christopher Lee (born June 22, 1988 in Tameside ) is an English football player . The Manchester United academy graduate, who can be used both in central midfield and as a (left) full -back, is currently under contract with Oldham Athletic .

Athletic career

Although a trained midfielder, Manchester United often used Kieran Lee, who was endowed with a good feel for the ball, as a defensive player on the flank in his youth, where he acted on both the left and right. After signing an official youth player contract in July 2004 and performing well in the U-17 team, he played a total of 25 games for the U-18 team in the 2004/05 season, followed by 23 more games the following year and also came 16 Time in the reserve team.

Before the start of the 2006/07 season, Lee signed a professional two-year contract with the "Red Devils" and during the pre-season season he received probation opportunities through a few short assignments. However, he still only found his place in the reserve team and made it up to the team captain there. Against Crewe Alexandra , he completed his first competitive game for the first team in the third round of the League Cup and scored his first goal for the decisive 2-1 victory for David Gray in the 77th minute . Also in the subsequent league cup round against Southend United , coach Alex Ferguson changed him at a late point in time, where the game was lost 0-1. In the Premier League , Lee made his debut against Chelsea on May 9, 2007 , when the battle for the championship had already been decided. It was the last appearance in United's "first eleven" and in early 2008 the club loaned him to the Queens Park Rangers in London . In the second-rate Football League Championship , Lee played seven championship games, but only two games from the start.

In the summer of 2008 Lee moved to third division Oldham Athletic on a free transfer , but at his new club the opportunities were initially rare and only under the new interim coach Joe Royle he came more regularly from April 2009 to train.
