Samuel Edward "Sam" Hutchinson (born August 3, 1989 in Slough ) is an English football player . He's under contract with Sheffield Wednesday .

Player career

Chelsea FC

Sam Hutchinson, who came from his own youth academy, made his debut on May 13, 2007 for Chelsea in a 1-1 draw against Everton. The defender played his second league game for the team from the London borough of Fulham on September 23, 2009 in a 2-0 away win over Fulham FC. After persistent knee problems, Hutchinson ended his playing career in August 2010.

On December 1, 2011, he signed a new contract with Chelsea and was substituted on by coach Roberto Di Matteo on April 29, 2012 in the 6-1 home win over Queens Park Rangers in the 2011/12 Premier League . On the last day of the season he was used for the first time from the start in the 2-1 over Blackburn Rovers .

Nottingham Forest

On August 16, 2012, Hutchinson moved for the 2012/13 season on loan to the English second division club Nottingham Forest .

Vitesse Arnhem

On September 2, 2013, Hutchinson was loaned to Vitesse Arnhem on the last day of the transfer window to the Dutch Eredivisie . At the turn of the year 2013/14 the loan was terminated prematurely.

Sheffield Wednesday

In the summer break of 2014, Hutchinson moved to the English second division club Sheffield Wednesday . He signed a two-year contract.
