Chen Zhaokui

Chen Zhaokui ( Chinese  陳 照 奎  /  陈 照 奎 , Pinyin Chén Zhàokuí , W.-G. Ch'en Chao-k'uei ; * 1928 in Chenjiagou , Wen County, Henan Province , China ; † 1981 in Jiaozuo , People's Republic of China ), 18. Generation of the Chen family in Chenjiagou, Henan, the main representative of the Chen style of internal martial art Taijiquan in his generation. He was the only son of Chen Fake , who passed the Taijiquan teachings on in his family, and one of the two teachers of the so-called " Four Guardians of the Buddha " ( 四大 金剛  /  四大 金刚 , sì dà jīngāng , 四 金剛  / for  short) 四 金刚 , sì jīngāng , also 四大 護法  /  四大 护法 , sì dà hùfǎ  - "Four Dharma Protectors" or 四大 天王 , sì dà tiānwáng  - "Four Kings of Heaven"): Chen Xiaowang , Chen Zhenglei , Wang Xian and Zhu Tiancai . Chen Zhaokui had only one child: Chen Yu. After Chen Fake spread the Chen style Taijiquan in Beijing, Chen Zhaokui taught it for the first time in many cities in China. He was especially known for his gripping and levering techniques (Chinese Qinna). His students include many masters who are known today and who teach worldwide. In addition to Chen Xiaowang, Chen Zhenglei, Zhu Tiancai, Wang Xian and his son Chen Yu, for example Ma Hong, Chen Dewan, Chen Lizhou, Zhang Maozhen and Zhang Qilin.
