Chen Zhenglei

Chen Zhenglei (Chen Zheng Lei-Mai; * 1949 in Chenjiagou , Henan , People's Republic of China ) is one of the main representatives of the Chen style of the Chinese internal martial art Taijiquan and belongs to the 19th generation of the Chen family.

Chen Zhenglei is one of the "Top Ten Martial Arts Masters" in China. Chen Zhenglei is a member of the Committee of the Chinese Wushu Association , Vice Chairman of the Henan Wushu Association and "Senior National Wushu Master". He is also executive president of the Chen Taijiquan Family Association of Henan and director of the Chen Taijiquan Village Training Center of Zhengzhou .

Life

From the age of eight, he followed his uncle Chen Zhaopi to practice Taijiquan as passed down from the older generation of the Chen family, including tuishou and the use of various weapons such as spear , Chinese sword and so on. In addition, he studied the theory of Taijiquan. After Chen Zhaopi died in 1972, he continued his studies with his uncle Chen Zhaokui , who was also a famous Taijiquan grandmaster. Chen Zhenglei specialized in the theory and skills of Tuishou that were passed down to him from his grandfather, Chen Fake's brother . With this, Chen Zhenglei received direct practical instruction from two grand masters for over 20 years.

From 1974 to 1987 he won gold medals in more than 10 martial arts competitions in Henan Province and nationally in Tuishou, fighting with the Taiji sword and Taijiquan. He successfully defended his title as national Taijiquan master twice. He was awarded the title “Golden Lion” and is known in China and internationally as the “Tai Chi Buddha Warrior”. Since 1983 he has been regularly invited to Japan , the USA , Great Britain , France , Italy and other countries to teach Taijiquan and to give lectures. He has traveled to more than 20 countries and has been invited by hundreds of wushu societies and organizations around the world.

In 1986 he was elected as a member of the standing committee of the Chinese "People's Political Consultative Conference", two years later as deputy of the National People's Congress , as director of the "Tai Chi Chen Village School" and as head of the "Tai Chi Shaolin Research Institute" . In 1994 he became an international Tai Chi grandmaster and in December 1995 one of the "Top Ten Martial Arts Masters of Present Day".
