Chevallier is an impact crater on the northeastern front of the moon . It is north of Shuckburgh Crater , east of Atlas and southwest of Lacus Temporis . Apart from the large side crater Chevallier B , its interior is largely flat. The crater wall is very badly eroded.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the British astronomer and cleric Temple Chevallier .
