The Chevrolet Tavera is an MPV introduced in 2004 and manufactured by General Motors as Chevrolet under license from the Japanese automobile manufacturer Isuzu Motors in Indonesia and India (until 2017) . The model was developed exclusively for the Southeast Asian market, where the model is offered. Sister model of the Tavera is the Isuzu Panther , which is also known in some markets as Isuzu AUV , Isuzu HiLander and Isuzu Crosswind . The engine was a 2.2 l petrol engine with 84 kW (114 hp), a 2.5 l diesel engine with direct injection , turbocharging and a maximum output of initially 59 kW (80 hp), later 57 kW (78 hp) ) and a 2.0 l diesel engine with direct injection and turbocharging and a maximum output of 78 kW (106 hp).

The concept with 8 to 9 seats was successful in the market for shared taxis. The more highly equipped business version is called Tavera Neo . In the mid-2000s, Chevrolet advertised with the slogan "an Indian revolution" (in German: an Indian revolution). At that time, the vehicle was compliant with the Bharat Stage III emissions standard (abbreviated: BS III, corresponds to Euro 3), which came into force in 13 metropolitan regions from April 2005 and throughout India from April 2010 and offered exhaust aftertreatment in accordance with the associated ECE regulations . General Motors offered vehicles that met the BS-IV regulation from 2016,

A facelift and a revision of the interior were carried out in 2009 and a second series was created. The newer model is characterized by velor upholstery, a new instrument panel and a new chrome grille. It was now available in two model variants. The old series was also continued. Another facelift followed in 2012.
