Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force
Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force ( CMSAF ) is the highest NCO rank in the US Air Force . There is only one Non Commissioned Officer , who this rank while this official position holds. He is the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chief of Staff of the Air Force (CSAF).
tasks
The CMSAF is the superior of the Corps of the US Air Force and belongs to the staff of the Chief of Staff of the Air Force. The CMSAF is the spokesman for the NCOs and the person in charge of their concerns. He is paid according to grade E-9 ( NATO rank code OR-9).
On November 1, 2004, the badge of rank of the CMSAF was changed. Now it includes the Great Seal of the United States and two stars in the top section, while the laurel wreath below was left unchanged to maintain the badge's tradition.
