Chief Design Officer

Chief Design Officer (abbreviated CDO) or Design Executive Officer (DEO) is the English-language job title for the chief executive who is responsible for the design orientation of a company. The CDO is typically responsible for overseeing all design and innovation aspects of a company's products and services, including product design , graphic design , user experience design (UX), and packaging design . A CDO can also be partially responsible for advertising , marketing and technology .

The position has only recently emerged, with a CDO taking on roles previously delegated by a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Chief Product Officer (CPO), Chief Brand Officer (CBO) or subordinate design officers.
