The Chiemsee Cowboys are a German country , rock and pop band from southeast Bavaria. It acts primarily as a cover band in southern Germany and Austria.

Band history

The band was founded in 1990 in Höslwang / Chiemgau by the then local music teacher Willhelm G. Eitel. The CD releases from 1994, 2005 and 2010 were created with a changing line-up. In 2001 the formation won the title "Austrian King of Country Music" for the first time. Also in 2002, 2003 and 2005 the band won the event of the same name in Strasswalchen (Austria). In 2009, the Chiemsee Cowboys appeared under the pseudonym Cops Band Rosenheim . The band released several titles under both names on the CD sampler Rosenheim blooms auf blooms - a musical greeting from the state garden show in Rosenheim . In 2010 they produced the music video "Mia san from Rosenheim" for the private broadcaster Volksmusik.TV (today: Deutsches Musik Fernsehen ) . In addition, the band was represented several times in the opening act of the Austropop group "Die Seer " and the Austrian singer Andreas Gabalier . Also under the name " Chiemsee-Cowboys " there is a book written by the Rosenheim author Heinz von Wilk . But it is not related to the band. In February 2018, Wilk's fourth novel "Der Pate vom Chiemsee" was published in whose plot - resulting from a personal acquaintance in the meantime - the Chiemsee cowboys are involved as secondary characters. In January 2019 the band released the song "2000 Miles" on the label "Hawk Mountain Records". He appeared on the sampler "Best of Unknown Country Vol. 2". The founder Willi Eitel died on March 27, 2020 in his apartment in Höslwang. A public funeral was not held due to the COVID-19 pandemic prevailing at the time .
