China Bowl
The China Bowl was a planned preseason game between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks of the US American football -Liga National Football League (NFL), which in August 2007 in Beijing , People's Republic of China should take place.

On September 24, 2006, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced that the Seattle Seahawks would play against the New England Patriots in the preseason of the 2007 NFL season . The game, officially called China Bowl by the NFL , was scheduled for August 8, 2007. The China Bowl was supposed to be held in the workers' stadium in Beijing. The aim was to take advantage of the emerging sports wave in China ahead of the 2008 Beijing Olympics to increase the popularity of the NFL in China.
On April 2, 2007, the NFL announced that the game would be canceled because the NFL wanted to concentrate its resources on the NFL International Series in the United Kingdom and previously wanted to promote the spread of American football in China. The game was not held in the United States . Patriots spokesman Stacey James said they were still interested in a game in China and Seahawks CEO called it a "missed opportunity" and also expressed his organization's interest in a game in China.
NFL games in China have not yet been played (as of August 2017). Problems are the high level of air pollution in China, which makes outdoor games risky, and the lack of large covered stadiums in the vicinity of metropolitan areas. The two largest covered stadiums in China only have a little more than 30,000 seats and, with Ordos and Nantong, are not near Beijing or Shanghai .

The game was scheduled to air in China at 8:30 pm local time on China Central Television (CCTV), China's largest television broadcaster, and in the United States on NBC at 5:30 am PT .
