The Chineja [ kineʒa ] is a right tributary of the Prut in the Galați district in Romania .

The Chineja rises in the north of the Galați district near Bereşti. It flows in a south-southeast direction roughly parallel to the Prut, passes the small town of Târgu Bujor , bends to the east immediately north of Galați , runs parallel to the Danube on the last section and finally flows into the Prut just before its confluence with the Danube opposite the town Giurgiuleşti in the Republic of Moldova .

The length of the Chineja is around 95 km.
