Chlamydatus (Eurymerocoris) evanescens , also known as sedum soft bug , Sedum Bug or trimmed Dolling known is a Wanzenart from the family of plant bugs (Miridae).

features

The Brachypteren bugs are 1.6-2.1 mm long, the fully winged (macropteren) specimens reach a body length of 1.9-2.8 mm. The adult bugs almost always have shortened (brachyptere) hemielytres , which only reach about half the length of the abdomen. The nymphs are colored red.

Occurrence and habitat

The species is common in large parts of Europe. It occurs in the British Isles, in southern Scandinavia, in central Europe and in the Mediterranean area. To the east, their occurrence extends to the Middle East and the Caspian region .

Dry and warm to hot, lime-rich and open habitats are settled.

Way of life

The bugs specialize in Sedum species. The Hauptfutter- and -wirtspflanzen of nymphs and imagines form the sharp stonecrop ( Sedum acre ) and Sedum album ( Sedum album ). In Germany at least two generations are trained every year. The adult animals of the first generation can be observed from the beginning of June to the end of July, the second generation from the end of August to the beginning of September. The wintering takes place as an imago. Greening flat roofs with Sedum plants enables the species of bug to move to new locations, especially in urban areas such as central London.
