from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chlorobutanols are chemical compounds that are formally derived from alkanes . Here, one or more hydrogen atoms have been replaced by chlorine atoms and hydroxyl groups . The alkane structure consists of four carbon atoms and can be straight-chain ( n -butane ) or branched ( isobutane or 2-methylpropane).

Examples

4-chlorobutan-1-ol
1,1,1-trichloro-2-methyl-2-propanol
