Choi Young-rae ( kor. 최영래 ; born May 13, 1982 in Chungcheongbuk-do ) is a former South Korean marksman .

successes

Choi Young-rae participated in the 2012 Olympic Games in London in the competitions with the air pistol and with the free pistol . With the air pistol, he did not get past 35th place, while with the free pistol he scored 569 points in qualification, the best value of the competition. In the final, he scored another 92.5 points, falling behind his compatriot Jin Jong-oh , who was seven points behind and was Olympic champion half a point ahead of Choi . Choi thus received the silver medal ahead of Wang Zhiwei . Two years later he was runner- up in the team competition with the Free Pistol in Granada and also won the silver medal at the Asian Games in Incheon .
