The Chongshe Shan is a mountain of the Kunlun mountain chain on the border of the autonomous regions of Xinjiang and Tibet .

The Chongshe Shan is located in the western section of the Kunlun. The mountain has a height of 6903  m and is located in the middle of a glaciated region. The mountain is located 18.5 km east-northeast of Liushi Shan , the highest point of Kunlun. The northern flank of the Chongshe Shan is drained to the Yurungkax , a tributary of the Tarim . The south and west flanks of the mountain are drained over the Chongshe Glacier to the south to Lake Gozha Co with no outflow .

Chongshe Shan II

The 6,820  m high secondary peak Chongshe Shan II ( ) is located 2.6 km south of the main peak. The notch height is 320 m.

Chongshe Shan III

The 6,810  m high secondary peak Chongshe Shan III ( ) is located 4.14 km southeast of the main peak. The notch height is 410 m.

Chongshe Shan IV

The 6764  m high secondary peak Chongshe Shan IV ( ) is located 3.44 km northeast of the main peak. The notch height is 364 m.

Ascent history

The Chongshe Shan was first climbed on August 22, 1988 by a Japanese expedition. The first group to climb consisted of Hironori Ito and Naoki Mohri.
