history
The moshaw was founded on the land of the depopulated Arab village of Suhmata . The settlement was originally called Nachalat Schlomo (נחלת שלמה) in memory of Schlomo ben Josef (שלמה בן-יוסף), who was known as Shalom Tabachnik ( Cyrillic Шалом Табачник ,שלום טבצ'ניק) was born on May 7, 1913 in Lutsk , was a member of the Zionist organization Irgun and was hanged in the Akkon prison ( ʿŌlej ha-Gardōm ) after an assassination attempt on June 29, 1938 . The current name Chossen ( Hebrew Strength) points to the importance of the Israel Defense Forces in Operation Chiram (מִבְצַע חִירָם) from October 29, 1948 to October 31, 1948 during the war for Israel's independence .
