Maike Menzel

Maike Menzel (* 1989 in Neuss ) is a German cook .

Career

Menzel's grandfather and father were cooks. Menzel grew up on the Ammersee. She graduated from the state vocational school for housekeeping in Schongau and was then trained from 2008 at the Munich vocational school for the hotel, restaurant and brewing industry as a cook and in the Blauer Bock restaurant with Hans-Jörg Bachmeier .

She cooked at the Japanese restaurant Emiko in Louis Hotel in Munich, at the Hotel Bachmair am Tegernsee and restaurant Pageou of Ali Güngörmüş in Munich. In November 2016, Menzel moved to the Schwarzreiter restaurant in the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Munich, where she became sous chef in 2017. The restaurant was awarded one star in the 2018 Michelin Guide .

In August 2018 she became head chef at Schwarzreiter , for which she was awarded a “Young Talent” in November 2018 and with 15 points in Gault Millau 2019.
