Chris Browne

Chris Browne (* 1952 in South Orange , New Jersey ) is an American comic artist .

Chris Browne grew up in Wilton , Connecticut and supported his father, comic book artist Dik Browne , on the comic books Hi and Lois and Hägar the Terrible . Chris Browne was involved in the work on Hägar the Terrible from the start. In 1985 he was co-author of Hägar the Horrible's Very Nearly Complete Viking Handbook (German: The (almost definitive) Viking Handbook ).

In 1988, Dik Browne retired (a year before his death in 1989) and Chris Browne took over responsibility for the Hägar the Terrible series , which appears in over 1,900 newspapers in 58 countries worldwide and has been reprinted in numerous book editions. Today he continues to draw this comic, but no longer writes the text.

Chris Browne has also drawn cartoons for National Lampoon , Playboy , Esquire , The New Yorker and National Review . From 2000 to 2004, Chris and his wife Carroll Browne wrote the semi-autobiographical comic strip Raising Duncan .
