Christopher David "Chris" Czekaj (born December 14, 1985 in Cardiff ) is a Welsh rugby union player who is used on the positions outside three quarters and goalkeeper . He plays for the Cardiff Blues and has so far made six appearances for the Welsh national team .

Czekaj started rugby at the age of seven. He spent his youth at Llandaff RFC and was used early on in the youth national teams. In 2004 he moved from Cardiff RFC to the Magners League to the Blues. He first attracted international attention in 2005 when he made his debut for Wales against Canada when he made an outstanding attempt .

Czekaj toured Argentina with Wales in 2006 and made his Six Nations debut in 2007 . In the summer of 2007 he traveled to Australia , but was injured there in the second test match and was unable to take part in the World Cup.

Czekaj's grandparents come from Poland . Nicknamed 28 by Welsh fans , a nod to the number of points his name would get in the game of Scrabble .
