Chris Dyer

Chris Dyer (* 1969 in Bendigo , Australia ) is the former race engineer with overall responsibility at Scuderia Ferrari and was responsible for the use of the Formula 1 factory cars on the race tracks in 2009 and 2010 .

Career

Chris Dyer began his motorsport career in his homeland, Australia, and worked as an engineer on the Holden racing team in the 1990s . In 1997 he got into Formula 1 and worked at Arrows as a data engineer on Damon Hill's car . In 1998 he became a race engineer for Jos Verstappen .

In 2001 he moved to Scuderia Ferrari and was initially a vehicle engineer on Michael Schumacher's racing cars . At the end of 2002 he was promoted to race engineer. From the command post he led Schumacher to the world championship titles in 2003 and 2004. After Schumacher's resignation, the Australian took on the same role for the Finn Kimi Raikkonen . In 2009 Dyer was appointed chief race engineer and his position at Räikkönen's side was newly filled with Andrea Stella .

In December 2010, Scuderia Dyer's transfer announced. His successor in this capacity was Pat Fry .

From the 2013 DTM season he worked as a chief engineer for BMW .
