Career

First steps

Eschbach played for all Grossfeld teams of the UHC Waldkirch-St. Gallen before making his first appearance in the first team in the 2009/2010 season. In order to take a break from competitive sports and to devote himself to an internship as part of his studies, Eschbach moved to the canton neighbor UHC Herisau in the 2014/15 season . With the UHC Herisau, he immediately made the advance into the playoff semifinals.

Regression and progress

After strong performances in the third highest Swiss league, Eschbach returned to UHC Waldkirch-St. Gallen back. Eschbach did not do the season preparation like his teammates in the sports hall, but with surfing. Only in August of the same year did the Appenzeller join the team around captain Andrin Zellweger. In the first season after his return, Eschbach and captain Andrin Zellweger became a harmonious duo. At the end of the 2015/16 season, Eschbach was the top scorer of the first team. In 2016/17 he was again recognized as a top scorer and wore the top scorer's jersey for most of the season. This season was also the most successful season in the club's history for the UHC Waldkirch-St. Gallen. After the season, on March 30, 2017, the UHC Waldkirch-St. Gallen announced that Eschbach has extended its contract for another year until the end of the 2017/18 season. On January 1, 2018, the club announced that Eschbach would also play for the St. Gallen team in the 2018/19 season.
