Chris Hughes (musician)
Chris Hughes (born March 3, 1954 in London , England ; actually Christopher Merrick Hughes ), also known under the name Merrick , is a British drummer , percussionist and music producer from Liverpool.
Life
Chris Hughes started his career as a music producer in the late 1970s . In 1979 he produced the album "Compass Kum'pas" for the synthpop band Dalek I (Love You) , which was released in 1980. Hughes also played additional drum parts and percussion on this album. In 1980 he moved under the name Merrick to Adam And The Ants , for whom he played as second drummer and worked as a producer.
In 1982 Hughes left the "Ants". From then on, Chris Hughes concentrated on working as a music producer, often in collaboration with Ian Stanley .
From 1982 to 1989 Hughes was a producer and musician for the British new wave band Tears For Fears . In the early 1990s, Hughes played drums on some of the songs on Tori Amos ' debut album Little Earthquakes , which was released in 1992.
In 1994 Chris Hughes released his first solo CD Shift .
