Mike Weber had previously been selected by the Buffalo Sabers as the 57th player in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft in the second round .

During the 2008/09 season Weber was both in the squad of the Sabers, as well as in the squad of the new Buffalos farm team, the Portland Pirates from the American Hockey League. The American spent the following season 2009/10 completely with the Pirates and collected five goals and 16 assists in 81 games, in the playoffs he played all four games of his team and contributed one goal during this time. The Pirates were defeated in the first round by the Manchester Monarchs in the playoffs.
In 2010 Weber fought for a safe place in the ranks of the Buffalo Sabers in the NHL, this fact was expressed in the career high of 58 games in one season. With four goals and 13 assists, he also supported his team offensively. On July 4, 2011, the expiring attorney's contract was extended for several years by the Buffalo Sabers.

Weber then joined the Iowa Wild from the AHL on a trial basis in October 2016 , which provided him with a firm contract in December of the same year. In February 2017, the defender finally received a contract with Iowa's NHL cooperation partner, the Minnesota Wild , without being used there. After he had been looking for a new employer since the end of summer 2017, he was hired by Frölunda HC from Svenska Hockeyligan in mid-November 2017 .
