Wacław Martyniuk

Wacław Andrzej Martyniuk (born November 10, 1949 in Bytom ) is a Polish politician , trade union official and since 1991 a member of the Sejm in the I., II., III., IV., V. and VI . Electoral term.

He finished his studies at the Poznan School of Economics in 1972 . Until 1999 he was a member of the Socjaldemokracja Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej (Social Democracy of the Republic of Poland - SdRP), then he joined the Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej (Federation of the Democratic Left - SLD). From 1984 to 1994 he was a functionary and deputy chairman of the Federation of Miners' Unions and the Ogólnopolskie Porozumienie Związków Zawodowych (Alliance of Left Trade Unions in Poland). In 1991, 1993, 1997, 2001 and 2005 he was elected to the Sejm. Since 1997 he has been responsible for parliamentary group discipline in the SLD parliamentary group.

In the parliamentary elections in 2007 he was elected to the Sejm for the sixth time via the list of Lewica i Demokraci (Left and Democrats - LiD) with 16,125 votes for the constituency of Gliwice . He is deputy chairman of the Sejm commission for parliamentary affairs and a member of the commission for public finances.

On April 22, 2008 he became a member of the Lewica parliamentary group .
