Christopher "Chris" Williams (born June 1, 1981 in Toronto ) is a former Canadian soccer player .
Career
Williams played in college soccer from 1999 to 2002 at the University of Mobile and led the team to win the college championship of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics in 2002 . For his performance this season he was elected to the NAIA First Team All-American . In the 2003 USL Draft, Williams was selected by the Toronto Lynx , but given to Montreal Impact . In 2004 he won the USL A-League with Montreal , but he was not used in the final. In 2005 he moved to the Toronto Lynx on a free transfer, for whom he played in the following two years.
In early 2007 Williams dared to move to the Czech first division club SK Kladno and came there at the end of the 2006/07 season to two missions. After another six months without work, he returned to North America and signed a contract with Charleston Battery in the USL First Division . For the 2010 season he moved to the Vancouver Whitecaps in the USSF Division 2 Professional League . With the end of the season, Williams ended his active career.
Williams played regularly between 2000 and 2004 for the junior team of Canada, in 2001 he took part with the U-20 in the Junior World Cup in Argentina and came out in the preliminary round to three missions. In January 2003 he made his international debut in the Canadian senior team in a 4-0 defeat in a friendly against the USA . It wasn't until five years later that he came to his next appearances, including a World Cup qualifier against Jamaica in November 2008.
