Christa Erden

Christa earth (* 13. July 1947 in Sontra as Christa Franke ) is a German local politician ( CDU ) and administrative assistant. From 1996 to 2006 she was mayor of the Lower Saxon town of Soltau .

Life

After graduating from high school, Erden began studying law , which she broke off for financial reasons. She then studied to become a teacher for elementary and secondary schools and graduated as a qualified pedagogue . In addition to her work as a teacher, she subsequently studied psychology , medicine and education at the university . From 1976 she was deputy director of the community college in Göttingen , on January 1, 1980 she moved to the Bohemian city as director of the community college in Soltau.

In 1986 Erden became a council member in Soltau, at that time still as a non-party candidate on the CDU list, two years later she joined the CDU.

In 1996, Erden was elected mayor of the city of Soltau, at that time still an honorary post alongside city director Jürgen Fenner . In 2001, Erden ran again for mayoral election and prevailed in a runoff election on September 23, 2001 with just under 53.96 percent of the votes against Jürgen Frost (SPD). From November 1, 2001, after the merger with the office of city director, she took over the newly created post of full-time mayor and was now also the city's head of administration. As a result, she resigned her position as director of the district adult education center. In the runoff election for mayor election 2006 on September 24, 2006, Erden was defeated by SPD challenger Wilhelm Ruhkopf with only 33.1 percent of the vote , so her term as mayor ended at the end of October 2006.

From 2006 Erden worked in the local examination office of the district administration.
