Christa Klaß
Christa Klass (* 7. November 1951 in Osann ) from 1994 to 2014 MEP of the CDU for Rheinland-Pfalz in the European People's Party .
Life
Klaß is a winemaker in an independent winery and has been a master craftsman since 1975. On September 10, 2014, Christa Klaß was awarded the honorary title of “Economist” by the Rhineland-Palatinate Prime Minister Malu Dreyer.
Mandates
In the 7th electoral term (2009-2014) of the European Parliament , Klaß was a member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety . She was also Deputy for the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development and for the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality, and Vice-Chair of the delegation to the EU - Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee .
Klaß has also been a member of the Bernkastel-Wittlich district council since 1989 , and has been a member of the local council of her home municipality Osann-Monzel since 2014.
Political party
Klaß was chairwoman of the women's union in the Trier district and deputy chairwoman of the CDU district association Bernkastel-Wittlich.
Memberships
Klaß was a member of the Europa-Union parliamentary group European Parliament . She was also the chairwoman of the Rhineland-Nassau Rural Women's Association and is a member of the board of the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Agriculture.
