Christa Kummer

Christa Kummer (born September 8, 1964 in Vienna ) is an Austrian television presenter.

Education and career

Christa Kummer grew up in Vienna. After graduating from high school in 1983, she studied geography, economics and Catholic theology at the University of Vienna . She completed her studies in 1988 with a master's degree. First she taught as an AHS teacher at the ORG Marianum of the school brothers in Vienna-Währing, she was also scientifically active as a hydrogeologist and climatologist at the Institute for Speleology . She also led advanced training events for teachers at the RPI of the Archdiocese of Vienna .

Christa Kummer completed her dissertation in geography with a focus on geochemistry and geophysics in 1993. As a hydrogeologist and climatologist, she headed the secretariat of the Vienna International Future Conference in 1993 and 1994 .

In 1994 she became a freelance editor in the weather department at ORF . Since 1995 she has been the first woman in Austria to present the “weather”. In addition, she continues to work on scientific projects and moderates events. Scientific lectures are another focus. B. on the topics of climate-weather-health, climate change, extreme weather events or farmers' rules in the test. In 2017 she will moderate the award ceremony of the Austrian Climate Protection Prize .

Mrs. Shoe

Because of her preference for beautiful shoes, which she also presents during her presentations, she was named "Ambassador of good shoe taste" by the "Initiative Österreichische Schuhwirtschaft" in 2008 with the title Mrs. Shoe . In interviews, she described herself as "addicted to shoes". She estimates her property at around 250 pairs.
